Diana and Max's San Juan Capistrano Engagement

6:45:00 PM

I remember on our wedding day, the advice someone gave to us was that happiness is what we think, what we say, and what we do are in harmony with one another...

They had met each other during spring break and really hit it off.  For Max, who had felt so strongly about Diana after talking late nights into the morning, that he invited her to the USAF Academy ring dance in late May 2012.  Even though they knew it would be difficult and long distance for well over a year, Diana said yes to Max's proposal to be his girlfriend the night after ring dance.

Flash forward to three years after Diana and Max started dating, Max's proposal this time was for her hand in marriage.  Knowing how important family is to Diana and how much it would mean, Max worked with Diana's mom to incorporate her into the proposal.  They hiked up Elephant Mountain in Taipei, and while it was not a difficult hike, it was extremely hot with 95% humidity.  By the time they got to the top, both were very sweaty but Diana still said yes!  They celebrated with her family afterwards on the 85th floor of the Taipei 101. Her grandmother was there and she's the most important person in the world to Diana so it was a very special and meaningful night.

There were plentiful moments where Max and Diana are so in sync.  One specific memory of a date Max recalls is when the two went to Lawry's with a bunch of friends.  And while everything was pretty good, it didn't live up to the hype. "When we left the restaurant we both just sort of share that sentiment almost simultaneously and we both said if it was warmer or hot maybe it would be better. We both know prime rib isn't supposed to be hot but it was just one of those moments where our bond felt really strong even about something so inconsequential as steak temperature."

Meeting these two, and seeing how they interact with one another in front of the lens was a sweet reminder of that easy-going, perfectly balanced, sense of incredulous...harmony.

  3. So this was no ordinary flower order. I was asking to re-create the centerpieces from our wedding for my wife. The Florist Delivery quickly responded to my email with all the information I needed, and what she envisioned the arrangement would look like.
